Our 30 Hour Famine Goals video!

What is the 30 Hour Famine?

The 30 Hour Famine is an opportunity to save the lives of Children in Haiti, by helping to combat hunger and end their cycle of poverty.  Specifically, the Famine is a two part event.  Part one is a two month period of time for raising funds, and part two is a two day (30 hours) event held at SCCC where youth and volunteers will fast from food, learn about and experience hunger and poverty, learn about God’s love and Jesus’ sacrifice, and have an awesome time playing games in a safe environment.

Part One - Fundraising packets will be available starting February 10th.  I will be handing these out Wednesday night.  This packet explains everything you will need to know about raising funds for children in Haiti.

Part Two – Our 30 Hour Famine event starts at 12.00pm on Friday, March 26th, and ends at 8.00pm on Saturday, March 27th.  A full schedule is listed below.

Who can be apart of the Famine?

Anyone who is in 6th-12th grade.  Remember, that the Famine is a two part event, and each youth who participates is expected to be active in each part of the event.  So, youth must take the fundraising aspect of the Famine seriously if they want to experience part two.  If you need a fundraising packet, contact Luke.  A consent form must be turned in to participate in the 30 Hour Famine fundraising and the event on March 26th and 27th. Click here to download it, it is also available on the Downloads page.
